Limitless Notion Dashboard: How to have everything you need on One Page

Notion is a powerhouse of customization, enabling users to organize their personal and professional lives just the way they want. One of my favorite creations within Notion is what I call the Limitless Dashboard.

This dashboard consolidates everything you need—work tasks, personal goals, resources, and more—into a single page. The genius of this approach is its clean and intuitive structure, making it easy to navigate between sections and find what you need instantly.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of creating your own Limitless Dashboard using toggles, in-page links, and synced blocks.

How It Works

The Limitless Dashboard revolves around two key Notion features:

  1. Toggles: These allow you to create collapsible sections for better organization. You can expand a section when you need it and hide it when you don’t, keeping your dashboard clutter-free.
  2. In-Page Links: These let you create a clickable menu that takes you directly to specific sections, eliminating the need to scroll endlessly.

Here’s the basic setup:

  • You divide your dashboard into sections, such as Workspace, Resources, and Review, each housed within a toggle block.
  • At the top of the page, you create a menu that links to these sections, allowing you to jump to any part of the dashboard instantly.
  • By turning the menu into a synced block, you can place it inside every section for seamless navigation.

Now, let’s build your Limitless Dashboard step by step.

How to Create Your Limitless Dashboard

Step 1: Create a New Page

  1. Open Notion and click the + New Page button in the sidebar.
  2. Give your dashboard a name, such as “Limitless Dashboard.” Make it something that resonates with you.
  3. Add a cover image and an icon to give the page some personality. For example, use a workspace icon or a colorful abstract image to make it visually appealing.

Step 2: Create the Sections

  1. Inside the page, type > and press Space to create your first toggle block.
  2. Name the toggle with your first section, e.g., Workspace.
    • You can also add emojis or icons to the section names for a better visual structure (e.g., "💼 Workspace").
  3. Press Enter to create additional toggle blocks for other sections, such as:
    • Resources: A section for storing useful links, tools, and references.
    • Review: A place to reflect on your progress or plan your next steps.
    • Personal: For personal goals, habits, or journaling.

Step 3: Create the Menu

  1. At the very top of your page, create a menu listing all the sections. Write their names in one line and separate them with symbols like | or . For example:
    Workspace | Resources | Review | Personal
  2. Use bold formatting or emojis to make the menu more visually distinct. For instance:
    💼 Workspace | 📚 Resources | 📆 Review | 🌟 Personal

Step 4: Link the Menu Items to the Sections

  1. Right-click on a toggle heading (e.g., Workspace) and select Copy Link to Block.
  2. Highlight the corresponding menu text (e.g., Workspace) and click the Link button in the text formatting toolbar. Paste the copied link.
  3. Repeat this process for all menu items.
  4. Test each link to ensure it takes you to the correct section.

Step 5: Turn the Menu into a Synced Block

  1. Select the entire menu by highlighting it.
  2. Click on the ••• menu that appears and choose Turn into Synced Block.
  3. A red border will appear around the menu, indicating it’s now a synced block.

Step 6: Add the Menu to All Sections

  1. Copy the synced block.
  2. Open each toggle section and paste the menu at the top of the section.
  3. Now, no matter which section you’re in, you’ll always have quick access to the full menu.

Step 7: Fill the Sections with Content

  1. Expand each toggle and start adding the content you need:
    • For Workspace, embed databases or add links to ongoing projects and tasks.
    • In Resources, create a list of articles, videos, or tools that you frequently reference.
    • In Review, include a weekly reflection template or progress tracker.
    • For Personal, you might include a habit tracker, journal entries, or personal goals.
  2. You can use other Notion blocks like galleries, tables, and calendars to make your sections more dynamic.
