How to embed GitHub Gists in Notion

Both Notion and GitHub are awesome places online. You know what's better? Having the two of them in one place, means to embed GitHub within Notion.

The purpose of this guide is to show you how you can embed GitHub Gists in Notion. The process is so easy that it takes no more than 1 minute once you've found the Gists that you want to be seen in Notion..

How to embed GitHub in Notion

To embed GitHub in Notion, you have to copy the URL of your Gist and paste it in Notion's Embed function.

1. Find a GitHub Gist

First things first, you have to find a Gist that you later wanted to embed in Notion.

Found it? Cool! Now go ahead and copy its URL from the search bar of your browser.

3. Make an embed in Notion

When it comes to GitHub, there are a few ways to make an embed in Notion:

  1. Type /GitHub and select Embed
  2. Type /embed and select Embed
  3. Type "/" and scroll until you see Embed, and select that
  4. Paste your GitHub link and select "Create an embed"

All of these options work the same. It all comes down to which one suits you better.

As you can see, for this guide, we chose the option to type "/GitHub" and select the Embed block.

4. Paste your GitHub link

Whiechever option you chose at the previous step will lead to the same screen at this step, as you now have to paste your GitHub Gist's link in the Embed block.

Once you've pasted the GitHub Gist's link in the Embed block, click on the blue "Embed Gist" button to save your changes.

Then, you just have to wait a few seconds for the embed to load 100%, and once it is done, your embed should be similar to the image below.
